The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has unveiled plans for a major infrastructure upgrade—a 50-km cement-concrete road running parallel to Pune Metro Line 3, connecting Maan in Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar.
Designed to link Pune’s IT hub with the city center, the corridor will significantly ease traffic congestion, improve surface durability, and address chronic drainage and road quality issues. The use of cement-concrete over conventional asphalt is expected to offer longer lifespan and lower maintenance costs.
The project is strategically aligned with the ongoing construction of Metro Line 3, enhancing multi-modal connectivity and contributing to a more integrated urban transport system.
Upon completion, the road will improve last-mile access, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and boost economic activity along the Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar corridor. PMRDA will collaborate with relevant agencies to ensure coordinated execution and timely delivery of the project.
