Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation (SRFDCL) has opened bids for the construction of a barrage-cum-bridge project in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking a significant infrastructure initiative. The project's scope encompasses comprehensive engineering tasks, including detailed design and construction of a barrage-cum-bridge structure across the Sabarmati River. Situated between the torrent power plant on the West and Camp Sadar Bazar on the East, this development aims to facilitate the storage of raw water for drinking purposes. Additionally, the project includes watershed development efforts and bridge construction to enhance the road network for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
This Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract is anticipated to hold an estimated value of Rs 184.7 crore. The project's objective is to create essential infrastructure that not only addresses water storage needs but also contributes to the enhancement of the city's road connectivity and overall urban development.
Interested parties have until 21st January 2024 to submit their bids for consideration. The successful completion of this project holds the potential to significantly impact the region's water management capabilities and the improvement of transportation infrastructure within Ahmedabad.
