A New Era for Noida: Elevated Road and Eco-Park Ready for Launch

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to visit Noida on September 25 to inaugurate two key infrastructure projects: the much-anticipated Bhangel Elevated Road and the city’s first "Waste-to-Wonder" Park in Sector 94. While an official confirmation is awaited, sources indicate both projects will be formally launched during his visit.

Bhangel Elevated Road: Boosting Connectivity and Reducing Congestion

The 5.5-km Bhangel Elevated Road, under construction since June 2020, has finally been completed and handed over to the Noida Authority by the UP State Bridge Corporation Ltd (UPSBCL). Originally targeted for completion in December 2022, the ₹341-crore project will now provide seamless traffic movement along the Dadri–Surajpur–Chhalera (DSC) Road, easing long-standing congestion issues.

According to Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M, the new corridor will significantly improve connectivity between central and peripheral sectors of Noida. Final touches, including landscaping and lighting, are being wrapped up ahead of the inauguration.

Waste-to-Wonder Park: Art, Ecology, and Education from Scrap

Also scheduled for launch is Noida’s first Waste-to-Wonder Park, a ₹15-crore, 18-acre eco-park developed in Sector 94. The park features over 800 sculptures of animals crafted from nearly 500 tonnes of scrap metal and plastic waste, transforming discarded materials into public art and environmental awareness.

“This is the first initiative of its kind in Noida,” said CEO Lokesh M. “It will serve as a recreational and educational landmark for the city.”

The park is divided into three themed zones:

Zone 1: Includes an amphitheater (1,000 seats), food court, children’s play area, and exhibition space.

Zone 2: Covers 9 acres and recreates rainforest, desert, and wetland ecosystems through realistic sculptures.

Zone 3: Located near the Okhla Bird Sanctuary, this area represents oceanic, temperate, and polar ecosystems.

Visitors can traverse the park via a footbridge over the expressway and an underpass, with access points from Dalit Prerna Sthal and the Sector 94 metro station. A parking facility for 500 vehicles has also been developed.

Additional Features

Entry fee: ₹100, with separate charges for zip-lining, rock climbing, and other adventure activities.

The park will feature a jungle night safari using battery-operated e-carts, a first-of-its-kind in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The developer will maintain the park and receive a share of ticket revenues as part of a long-term operations agreement.

Together, these projects underscore Noida’s push toward sustainable urban development and improved infrastructure.
