Bayview Projects Wins Contract for UP's Mega Film City

Bayview Projects, in collaboration with filmmaker Boney Kapoor and real estate developer Bhutani Group, has successfully secured a contract to spearhead the development of the International Film City in Uttar Pradesh. Following an open financial bid on January 30, 2024, conducted by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the joint venture emerged as the highest bidder for the inaugural phase of the proposed 1,000-acre film city situated near the upcoming Jewar airport in Uttar Pradesh.

The ambitious greenfield project, estimated to require an investment of Rs 10,000 crore, is poised to be executed through a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Approval from the state government is pending before the land can be allocated to the concessionaire for project development.

Encompassing a vast expanse of over 1,000 acres (with the first phase spanning 230 acres), the Film City project is strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway near Noida. The designated site is delineated to include 740 acres for filming, 40 acres dedicated to film institutes, 120 acres for an amusement park and retail spaces, and the remaining 100 acres designated for commercial use.

The comprehensive project plan, outlined in a detailed project report (DPR) prepared by real estate consultant CBRE, proposes a phased completion approach. The envisioned timeline for the entire project is slated for conclusion by 2028-29, subject to the green light from the state government and successful allocation of land for each phase.
