Citadel's 42.33 Crore ISWM Project Transforms Waste into Treasure in Madhya Pradesh

Citadel Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) initiative in Ganiyari, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, stands as a beacon of effective waste management. With a processing capacity of 188 Tons per Day (TPD) and a total cost of Rs. 42.33 crores, the project comprises a state-of-the-art Composting Plant and a Secure Landfill Facility. This comprehensive approach aims to alleviate the burden on landfills by diverting 188 TPD of waste, consequently prolonging their lifespan. The advanced composting technology employed at the plant not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also yields nutrient-rich compost for agricultural and landscaping purposes.

The Secure Landfill Facility adheres to rigorous environmental standards, ensuring responsible waste disposal. Engineered slopes, compaction techniques, and lining systems with leachate collection prevent soil and groundwater pollution. The project not only addresses environmental concerns but also fosters economic growth by creating employment opportunities in waste collection, processing, and management. Beyond the immediate benefits, the Citadel ISWM Ganiyari Project showcases a commitment to sustainability, offering a blueprint for other cities seeking effective waste management solutions.

In essence, this initiative is a remarkable stride towards a cleaner environment, improved public health, resource recovery, and economic development. By integrating innovative technologies with responsible waste disposal practices, Citadel sets a precedent for cities nationwide to emulate and embrace sustainable waste management strategies.
