Japanese air-conditioning major Daikin has partnered with EY to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Gurugram, named the Daikin Innovation and Services Hub. The centre will serve as a strategic backbone for the company’s global operations, focusing on digital transformation and advanced enterprise functions.
The new facility will strengthen Daikin’s capabilities across information technology, digital services, data management, finance, and artificial intelligence (AI). It is expected to employ around 700 professionals, positioning India as a hub for innovation and global support.
A senior Daikin executive noted that the initiative reflects a strategic shift—not just a cost-optimization measure, but a deliberate move to build high-value competencies within India. “The success of this project could lead to the establishment of additional centres in India. The parent company’s mindset has evolved, recognizing India’s exceptional talent pool and its potential to contribute more meaningfully to global operations,” the official said.
India remains a key market for Daikin, having generated ₹12,500 crore in revenue in FY 2024–25. The company is also expanding its manufacturing footprint in the country, including compressor production and the development of an export-oriented plant in Sri City, aimed at markets such as Africa, South America, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Bhutan.
