Gandhar Refinery has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) to jointly explore the development of a state-of-the-art terminal at Vadhvan Port in Maharashtra.
The proposed terminal will be equipped to handle container, bulk, and liquid cargo, along with the necessary supporting infrastructure. With a projected investment of approximately ₹1,000 crore, the project underscores Gandhar Refinery’s strategic intent to expand and diversify its logistical and infrastructural footprint.
This collaboration supports India’s broader maritime development objectives under the Sagarmala initiative, which aims to modernize port infrastructure and enhance coastal connectivity. The terminal is expected to become operational by 2030, offering a long-term solution to the rising cargo volumes and contributing to industrial growth across the western coast.
The MoU also reflects the increasing involvement of private sector enterprises in strengthening the nation’s port infrastructure, signaling confidence in India’s growing trade and logistics ecosystem.
