Apple will begin manufacturing AirPods at Foxconn’s Hyderabad facility starting in April 2024, making it the second Apple product to be produced in India after iPhones. This move is part of Apple’s broader strategy to diversify its global manufacturing footprint.
Initially, the AirPods produced in Hyderabad will be exclusively for export, reinforcing Apple’s efforts to expand its supply chain beyond China.
Foxconn has invested $400 million (Rs 3,500 crore) in establishing the factory, which received approval in August 2023.
