Johnson Lifts has announced plans to invest ₹300 crore in research and development over the next two to three years, with a focus on enhancing product innovation, including the development of high-speed elevators (up to 4 m/s) in compliance with the latest IS 17900 standards.
The company currently operates four manufacturing facilities in Poonamallee, Oragadam, Sengadu, and Nagpur, providing a strong foundation for regional scalability. It recently completed a ₹54 crore expansion at its Nagpur plant and inaugurated a new regional office in Noida. Additionally, ₹250 crore has been earmarked to upgrade the company’s Sengadu R&D centre, reinforcing its commitment to technological advancement.
Johnson Lifts also introduced Eazy Ride Plus, a premium residential elevator tailored for existing homes, tapping into India’s rapidly growing retrofit market, which accounts for nearly 80% of residential lift demand.
According to V Jagannathan, Managing Director and CEO of Johnson Lifts, the Indian elevator and escalator market is valued at approximately ₹15,000 crore, with the residential segment expected to grow at 10–12% annually over the next five years. The commercial segment is projected to expand even faster, driving significant industry-wide growth.
