Kargwal Constructions Unveils Marina Development Project (350 Cr)

Kargwal Constructions' proposed Marina development project, AHOY Marina, has been a subject of debate since its inception in 2010. Located in Mormugao, North Goa, the project aims to develop a 10-hectare marina on land leased from the Mormugao Port Trust (MPT). The marina will be capable of accommodating up to 500 yachts and will feature amenities such as a restaurant, a spa, and a yacht club.

However, the project has faced criticism from local fishermen and environmental groups. While proponents argue that the marina will boost tourism and create job opportunities in Goa, opponents fear it will disrupt the livelihood of the fishing community and harm the ecosystem.

Although the MPT has given its preliminary approval to the proposal, the final decision rests with the Union Ministry of Shipping.

Key details of the project include its location on a 10-hectare area of land leased from the MPT. The marina will have a capacity of up to 500 ships and will feature amenities such as a yacht club, a restaurant, and a shopping mall. The estimated cost of the project is approximately ₹350 crores, with an expected generation of around 450 job opportunities.
