The Karnataka Cabinet on October 9 approved the development of a commercial office tech park on 3.285 acres at Blueberry Hills Road, Derebail, in Mangaluru (Dakshina Kannada district).
The project will be implemented through a public-private partnership (PPP) model on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. Announcing the decision, State IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge confirmed the inclusion of survey numbers 129 and 113 in the development plan.
This initiative is part of the Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation’s (KEONICS) broader strategy to monetise its land assets and promote private investment in the state’s technology sector.
In July 2024, KEONICS identified several prime land parcels for monetisation, including:
5 acres in Hebbal Industrial Estate, Mysuru, 3.35 acres at Blueberry Hills Road, Mangaluru, 37,028 sq. ft. in Hubballi's Software Technology Parks of India, 12 acres at the Hi-tech Defence & Aerospace Park in Devanahalli near Bengaluru airport
These projects aim to enhance tech infrastructure and attract industry players across key urban centres in Karnataka.
