Lam Research’s ₹10,000 Crore Chip Boost for India

US-based semiconductor equipment leader Lam Research has announced a multi-year investment plan of approximately ₹10,000 crore to expand its footprint in India. Building on its 25-year history in the country—which includes major R&D and engineering hubs in Bengaluru—the initiative will establish Lam's first domestic silicon component manufacturing facility. The vertically integrated site will handle everything from silicon ingot production to advanced node processing, while a parallel expansion of the India Center for Engineering will further bolster global design and testing capabilities.
