Made in India: Honor Smartphones Set for Local Production

PSAV Global, the official brand partner of Chinese smartphone maker Honor, is set to begin local manufacturing of Honor smartphones in India starting November 2025.

Co-founder and CEO CP Khandelwal stated that the company aims to capture around 1% of the Indian smartphone market, targeting revenue of approximately ₹2,500 crore in its first year. Production will begin with a completely knocked down (CKD) assembly model, with gradual scaling aligned to global product launches.

According to Counterpoint Research, Honor remains one of the fastest-growing smartphone brands globally, with a strong presence outside China. In India, the company has already launched the Honor X9c and X7c, and plans to introduce the Honor V3 and Magic 7 Pro soon.

PSAV has secured Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) approval for four models, following previous delays in 2024 due to management changes at Honor’s global headquarters and pending government clearances.

Khandelwal confirmed that with local manufacturing in place, all future global models will be launched in India in sync with international timelines, reinforcing Honor’s renewed commitment to the Indian market.
