Merlinhawk & Vega Composites Launch Advanced Aerospace Facility

In a major boost to India’s self-reliance in defence production, Bengaluru’s Merlinhawk Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., in strategic partnership with Italy’s Vega Composites, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art advanced composites manufacturing facility. Located at Shoolagiri within the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor, the new facility will operate under Merlinhawk Composites & Engineering Pvt. Ltd.

The Krishnagiri-based plant is set to design and manufacture cutting-edge composite aerostructures and high-performance materials. These components will power next-generation aerospace and defence platforms, including unmanned aerial systems (UAS), aircraft, radar structures, and electronic warfare systems.

“The global shift toward advanced composite materials makes it vital for India to build integrated design and manufacturing capabilities,” said R. Ramachandra Rao, Founder and MD of Merlinhawk Aerospace. “By merging Vega Composites' global technical expertise with Indian engineering talent, we are creating a robust ecosystem that serves domestic defense programs and integrates India into the global aerospace supply chain.”
