The Maharashtra government has greenlit the commercial monetization of over 3,500 acres of land belonging to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) via a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Announced by Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik on October 9, the initiative targets MSRTC’s extensive portfolio of prime land parcels across roughly 850 locations statewide. Properties can be leased for up to 98 years for commercial, residential, or industrial development to secure long-term revenue streams for the state transport body. A high-level committee led by Minister Sarnaik will oversee the project's execution.
