The Karnataka government has announced plans to develop a new IT City in Bidadi, located in Ramanagara district (recently renamed Bengaluru South).
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar shared the vision for the project, highlighting strong global interest, with investors from 60 countries participating in the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025. He emphasized that Karnataka’s talent pool, innovation ecosystem, and vibrant startup culture continue to drive the state’s growth. “They are eager to invest in Bengaluru, and we are supporting their investments in every possible way,” he said.
The Bidadi IT City project will be led by IT Minister Priyank Kharge and KEONICS Chairman Sharath Bache Gowda. The initiative aims to tap into Bengaluru’s extensive IT workforce of 25 lakh professionals. The government is also exploring the extension of Metro services to Tumakuru through a public–private partnership model.
