RIADA Waste Gets New Lease on Life with 3.5 MLD Treatment Plant in Jharkhand

The Ranchi Industrial Area Development Authority's Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) project at Hatia, Tehsil Namkum, District Ranchi, State Jharkhand, is significant. This 17.03 Crore project seeks to build a 3.5-MLD treatment facility. Its main goal is to manage and cleanse industrial wastewater from various enterprises in the Ranchi Industrial Area and release it into neighboring waterways according to guidelines.

The initiative has numerous goals. It mostly treats industrial wastewater to fulfill discharge regulations and protect the environment from untreated effluents. It also promotes sustainable industrial development by enforcing environmental regulations and encouraging eco-friendly business practices.

The project includes a wastewater collection network, screening and grit removal units, tanks for equalization and primary treatment, secondary and tertiary treatment stages using advanced processes like activated sludge treatment to remove dissolved organic matter. A sludge handling system will also properly dispose of created sludge.

As on December 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
