The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has reallocated a 48-acre land parcel in Sector 28, Noida, to Vama Sundari Investments, a joint venture between HCL Group and Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Megadevelopment, for a semiconductor project.
The company had earlier faced infrastructure and land acquisition challenges at the previously allotted Sector 10 site, leading to delays. Sector 28, which already hosts a Medical Device Park and other industries, offers the necessary infrastructure for the project. On March 6, 2025, YEIDA issued a fresh letter of intent to Vama Sundari, which accepted the offer and signed the document. The company plans to invest ₹3,706 crore in an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility, generating 4,000 jobs.
In November 2024, the Uttar Pradesh government approved incentives exceeding ₹8,500 crore for two semiconductor projects in the YEIDA region—Vama Sundari’s and Tarq Semiconductors, promoted by the Hiranandani Group. Both projects await final approval from the Centre. Vama Sundari must now submit the updated letter of intent to the Centre to formalize the land reallocation.
