Oil India Ltd has invited bids for the development of a 160 tonnes-per-day (TPD) compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Agartala, Tripura, based on municipal solid waste (MSW).
The project will be executed on an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operation, and Maintenance (EPCOM) basis, and is divided into two streams:
80 TPD from mixed municipal solid waste, 80 TPD from source-segregated waste
Designed for commercial use, the project supports the Government of India’s focus on sustainable energy and waste-to-energy initiatives by converting urban waste into renewable fuel.
The upcoming CBG facility is expected to:
Strengthen waste management infrastructure in Tripura, Support India’s clean energy transition, Generate local employment opportunities
The bid submission deadline is 26 September, 2025.
