Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, has successfully commissioned an 800 kWp solar power plant at its Khetri Copper Complex in Rajasthan.
The project forms part of HCL’s Clean Energy Mission, aimed at lowering its carbon footprint and advancing the transition towards sustainable and environmentally responsible operations. The commissioning marks a key milestone in the company’s efforts to integrate renewable energy into its industrial processes.
The Ministry of Mines has underscored the importance of expanding renewable energy adoption to support India’s clean energy transition and progress towards its Net Zero targets. Highlighting the significance of such initiatives, the ministry said that projects like the Khetri solar plant play a vital role in accelerating the country’s shift to cleaner energy sources.
The new facility will contribute to HCL’s objective of increasing the use of green energy while aligning with India’s broader renewable energy and sustainability goals.
