Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹600 crore in Surat on 13 December 2025, aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure and enhancing civic amenities for residents.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated projects valued at ₹249 crore undertaken by the Surat Municipal Urban Development Authority (SUDA) and laid the foundation stone for additional SUDA projects worth ₹109.51 crore. He also laid the foundation for key infrastructure initiatives amounting to ₹242 crore to be executed by the Urban Regional Development Corporation (URDCL).
Addressing the gathering, CM Patel highlighted Gujarat’s continued development momentum and Surat’s growing stature as a leading urban centre. He noted that the city has made significant strides in cleanliness and infrastructure, adding that the completion of the Outer Ring Road will play a crucial role in easing traffic congestion. “Gujarat is progressing alongside the nation, and Surat is emerging as a benchmark in cleanliness and urban development,” he said.
