Coal India plans to produce 788 million tonnes (MT) this financial year, lower than the initial target of 838 MT, while ruling out any price adjustments.
Chairman PM Prasad, speaking at the Indian Coal Markets Conference, projected an offtake of 765 MT. In January, the FY25 production target was revised to 806-810 MT.
He also encouraged private commercial block owners to seek support from the Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI) to help the government reduce coal imports.
