Oji India Packaging Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Japan’s Oji Group, has inaugurated its fifth manufacturing facility in India at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. As the largest plant of its kind in South Asia, it will produce corrugated boxes and packaging accessories, providing sustainable and high-quality solutions for the South Indian market.
The launch event was attended by Muneo Takahashi, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai; Hiroyuki Isono, President & Group CEO of Oji Holdings Corporation; Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City; and Yoshiyuki Kurahashi, CEO of Oji India Packaging.
Spanning 43,000 square meters, the automated facility has an annual production capacity of 100 million square meters of corrugated packaging. Currently employing 130 people, Oji India plans to expand its workforce to 300 as operations scale up. The plant will focus on heavy-duty packaging solutions designed for industries that prioritize protection, efficiency, and sustainability.
Hiroyuki Isono emphasized the Sri City plant’s strategic importance in enhancing packaging capabilities in South India and commended Sri City’s support in ensuring the project’s timely completion.
Established in 2012, Oji India operates manufacturing plants in Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Punjab. With an authorized capital of ₹245 crore and a paid-up capital of ₹242.95 crore, the company continues its expansion in India, aligning with Oji Group’s global growth strategy.
