Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has successfully commissioned SJVN’s 1 GW, DCR-compliant solar power project in Rajasthan.
Spread across the Bandarwala and Karnisar Bhatiyan sites in Bikaner district, the project comprises around 2.4 million solar modules, all manufactured at TP Solar’s facility in Tirunelveli, reinforcing TPREL’s commitment to the Make in India initiative.
The project will supply clean energy to multiple states, with 500 MW allocated to Rajasthan, 300 MW to Jammu & Kashmir, and 200 MW to Uttarakhand. It marks the largest project executed by TPREL to date and stands among India’s most significant renewable energy developments.
In its first year of operation, the project is expected to generate approximately 2,454.84 million units of green electricity, helping offset nearly 1.74 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Despite harsh environmental conditions—including extreme temperatures and challenging terrain—TPREL ensured timely completion through the use of advanced technologies and innovative execution strategies.
