UPNEDA Seeks Solar Power for Govt Buildings (7 MW)

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has launched three distinct tenders inviting bids for a cumulative 7 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects with integrated battery backup. These projects aim to enhance renewable energy adoption across government buildings in Uttar Pradesh.

Tender 1 calls for the deployment of 4 MW of rooftop solar systems ranging from 11 kW to 50 kW in capacity. Estimated at Rs 687.4 million, this tender is geared towards larger installations across various government structures.

Tender 2 focuses on smaller installations, ranging from 1 kW to 10 kW, totaling 2 MW in capacity. With an estimated cost of Rs 355.7 million, this tender targets decentralized energy solutions for smaller government buildings.

Tender 3 seeks to install 1 MW of rooftop solar systems ranging from 51 kW to 75 kW, with an estimated budget of Rs 173.8 million. This tender aims to cater to medium-sized government facilities.

According to the tender guidelines, interested bidders must submit an earnest money deposit equivalent to 2% of the estimated contract value. Additionally, successful developers will need to furnish performance security amounting to 5% of the contract value. Maintenance responsibilities for the systems are mandated for a five-year period post-installation.

The deadline for bid submissions is set for July 24, 2024. Upon selection, developers are required to commence installation within four months of receiving the work order.

These initiatives underscore UPNEDA's commitment to scaling up renewable energy infrastructure while promoting sustainable practices across government-operated buildings in Uttar Pradesh.
