Initial price bids are set to be opened for two significant Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) projects under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route: the Ananthapuram II Power Transmission scheme in Andhra Pradesh and the Mandsaur I RE Transmission project in Madhya Pradesh.
For the ₹3,300 crore Ananthapuram project, REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL) has qualified six bidders, including industry leaders such as PGCIL, Adani Energy Solutions, and Dilip Buildcon, as well as Shivalaya Construction, a new entrant. The project aims to integrate 3 GW of renewable energy and includes the development of a 765/400kV substation at Chikkanayakanahalli and expansion of the Ananthapuram-II Pooling Station.
In contrast, the ₹319 crore Mandsaur I project saw limited participation. PFC Consulting Ltd. (PFCCL) shortlisted PGCIL, KCC Buildcon, and Techno Electric & Engineering Co. This scheme focuses on capacity augmentation at the Mandsaur Pooling Station and is linked to the 765kV Mandsaur–Khandwa transmission line being developed under a separate TBCB package by a PGCIL subsidiary.
