The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has granted an interim transmission licence to Mandsaur I RE Transmission, a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), on 15 December 2025.

Following the grant, PGCIL will issue a public notice inviting comments and suggestions on the licence, with submissions to be made by 31 December 2025. The matter is scheduled for review at the next hearing on 06 January 2026. Mandsaur I RE Transmission is responsible for implementing an interstate transmission system project in Madhya Pradesh.

The project entails an investment of Rs 319 crore and is designed to augment transformation capacity through the installation of interconnecting transformers and line bays at the Mandsaur substation. It is planned for phased commissioning between March 2027 and March 2028. PGCIL secured the project under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) framework, quoting an annual transmission charge of Rs 446.99 million.
