Godrej Unveils Mumbai's First 400 kV GIS Substation

Godrej Electricals & Electronics, a subsidiary of Godrej & Boyce, has achieved significant milestones in the power infrastructure sector, completing projects spanning from 132 kV to 765 kV. Notably, the company has successfully installed the first 400 kV gas insulated substation (GIS) in Mumbai, bolstering the city's capacity by 1,500 MVA.

In the fiscal year 2024, the company has commissioned eight substations, including a landmark vertical substation in Mumbai, underscoring its robust presence in the sector. With an order backlog exceeding Rs 1,700 crore in the substation segment, Godrej Electricals demonstrates a steadfast commitment to reliability and sustainability, thereby contributing significantly to India's energy resilience.

Embracing collaborative efforts, Godrej Electricals collaborates with private sector entities to undertake diverse substation and renewable energy projects across the nation. The company aims to address the escalating demand for dependable and eco-friendly power solutions in metropolitan cities, challenging terrains of the North East states, Jammu, and pivotal regional hubs like Khavda in Gujarat.
