PGCIL's New Power Line: Mandsaur RE Transmission Acquired

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) successfully acquired Mandsaur I RE Transmission Ltd (MIRETL) on October 8, 2025, following its win in a tariff-based competitive bidding process.

The acquisition of this Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) from PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) marks a key milestone in the implementation of the project titled “Augmentation of Transformation Capacity and Implementation of Line Bays at Mandsaur Substation for RE Interconnection.” The project will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The scope involves augmentation work at the under-construction Mandsaur Pooling Station in Madhya Pradesh, aimed at enhancing the integration of renewable energy into the grid.

This strategic move is expected to strengthen transmission capacity, improve grid reliability, and support India’s renewable energy goals—particularly in facilitating efficient power evacuation in Madhya Pradesh.
