Powering the Future: DVC's 800 MW Expansion at Durgapur

As part of its ambitious expansion strategy, the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is moving forward with the development of a state-of-the-art 800 MW supercritical thermal power plant at the Durgapur Thermal Power Station (DTPS).

Designed to leverage advanced supercritical technology, the new unit will significantly enhance generation efficiency, stabilize power supplies, and fuel industrial growth throughout the surrounding region. Preparations for the project were recently inspected on-site by Durgapur West MLA Lakshman Chandra Ghorui, who received a comprehensive briefing from NV Ramana, Chief General Manager and Head of Project. This landmark project underscores DVC's ongoing commitment to strengthening India's energy infrastructure and meeting future power demands.
