REC Forms New Subsidiary for Rajasthan Power Transmission Project

REC has officially incorporated 'Rajasthan IV 4B Power Transmission' as a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Power Development & Consultancy (RECPDCL), which is itself a subsidiary of REC. This new entity is set to oversee the transmission system needed for the evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Phase-IV (Part-4: 3.5 GW), specifically focusing on Part B of the project.

The new subsidiary is established with an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000. This move follows a directive from the Ministry of Power, as outlined in a gazette notification dated June 14, 2024. According to this directive, RECPDCL is appointed as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for selecting the bidder for the transmission system.

Once the successful bidder is selected in line with Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines, the newly formed entity, Rajasthan IV 4B Power Transmission, will be transferred to the successful bidder along with all associated assets and liabilities. This step is integral to facilitating the development and operation of the transmission infrastructure crucial for supporting the Rajasthan REZ Phase-IV power projects.
