Schneider Electric & SBPDCL: Powering a Brighter Future for South Bihar

Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has partnered with South Bihar Power Distribution Company (SBPDCL) to modernize South Bihar’s power distribution network with advanced digital energy solutions. This collaboration addresses high power demand while ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply.

As part of the initiative, Schneider Electric has established a state-of-the-art Command-and-Control Centre and a Disaster Recovery Centre, enabling real-time grid monitoring and data-driven decision-making to enhance connectivity and reliability. Additionally, the deployment of 305 Ring Main Units (RMUs) and 550 Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) on overhead lines has significantly improved fault detection and response times. The company's EcoStruxure Grid solutions have played a key role in optimizing operational efficiency and uptime.

According to Schneider Electric, power reliability has improved by 90%, while energy consumption and cost savings have reached up to 80% and 60%, respectively.

By integrating EcoStruxure Grid technology, the initiative aims to build a future-ready power distribution system that supports South Bihar’s economic and infrastructure development. Schneider Electric reaffirms its commitment to driving India’s energy transition by equipping utilities with sustainable and scalable solutions.
