UPPCL's ₹144 Crore Power Boost for Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has approved a ₹144 crore infrastructure upgrade for the Amausi Zone under its 2025–26 Business Plan, aimed at enhancing power reliability across both rural and urban areas of Lucknow.

The project is expected to benefit over 5.5 lakh residents by reducing power outages, stabilizing voltage levels, and improving the grid's ability to manage peak load demands. Key components of the upgrade include:

Four new substations

Installation of 671 transformers ranging from 25 kVA to 400 kVA

Construction of a new 33 kV transmission line

Major focus areas under the initiative include Vrindavan, Alambagh, Kanpur Road, Mohanlalganj, Nadarganj, Dubagga, and Malihabad.

Out of the total investment:

₹50.13 crore is allocated for transformer installations

₹41.53 crore is earmarked for new substations at:

Sisendi (Mohanlalganj), Electricity Training Institute (Sarojininagar), FCI Substation Campus (Kakori Road), Near Lok Bandhu Hospital (LDA Colony)

These upgrades will directly benefit nearly 50,000 consumers in the initial phase. Construction work is scheduled to begin in September 2025, with completion targeted before summer 2026.
