Welspun Specialty Wins Big as L1 Bidder for Talcher Thermal Power Project!

Welspun Specialty Solutions Ltd. (WSSL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant supply contract awarded by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) for the NTPC Talcher 2x660 MW super critical thermal power project. This contract, valued at Rs 117 crore, involves the supply of seamless stainless steel boiler tubes.

WSSL's participation in this tender followed a thorough assessment and subsequent approval from both BHEL and NTPC, reflecting the company's compliance with stringent quality and performance standards required for such critical infrastructure projects.

The NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project, Stage-III, is being developed within the old TTPS plant premises in the Angul district of Odisha. This project marks a major step in NTPC's ongoing efforts to enhance power generation capacity through the deployment of super critical thermal technology.

This contract win underscores WSSL's growing capabilities in delivering high-quality, specialized steel products for large-scale industrial projects. The successful bid not only strengthens WSSL's portfolio but also contributes to the advancement of India's power infrastructure.

The news of WSSL's contract win comes amidst other significant developments in the power sector, including major contract awards by Adani Group to BHEL and new directives for gas-fired power plants to operate during peak demand months.
