Northern Railway's ₹828 Cr. Boost for J&K Connectivity

Northern Railway has invited bids for the integrated maintenance of engineering, signal & telecommunication (S&T), and electrical assets on the Katra (excluding) – Banihal (excluding) section.

The project, to be implemented by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), is valued at ₹828.15 crore and spans a period of 60 months. The initiative aims to ensure seamless upkeep of critical infrastructure in this strategically vital stretch, which forms part of the key connectivity corridor in Jammu and Kashmir.

By adopting an integrated maintenance approach, Northern Railway seeks to enhance asset reliability, minimize downtime, and boost operational efficiency for both passenger and freight services.

The last date for bid submission is 04 September, 2025.
