Northern Railway has floated a tender for a range of infrastructure development works between Kashi and Varanasi, falling under the Lucknow Division. The project is part of the Varanasi–Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya multitracking initiative, covering a 15 km stretch and includes the construction of a new rail-cum-road bridge over the Ganga River. The scheduled project duration is 18 months.
The scope of work comprises extensive earthwork activities such as filling, cutting, compaction, and the supply and laying of blanketing material over embankments. Valued at ₹186.7 crore, the tender also includes key civil engineering tasks such as the construction and widening of major bridges, Road Under Bridges (RUBs), retaining walls, and the extension of minor bridges.
The deadline for bid submission is 05 June 2025.
