Bullet Train Milestone: Land Acquisition Complete in Palghar!

Palghar Collector Indu Rani Jakhar recently reviewed the progress of land acquisition for several major infrastructure projects, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train.

The review focused on resolving remaining administrative hurdles and ensuring the timely completion of key corridors. Projects discussed included the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail, the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, Virar-Dahanu Railway Quadrupling, and other critical railway initiatives. According to an official release, land acquisition for the bullet train project is now 100 percent complete, with 92 percent of beneficiaries across 71 villages having received full compensation. The Virar-Dahanu project is nearly finished, with only minor acquisitions pending, while the Borivali-Virar project has also completed its land acquisition process.

“These five projects cover a total of 169 villages. A sum of ₹2,859.14 crore has been disbursed to project-affected persons, with ₹328.52 crore remaining for distribution,” the release stated. Collector Jakhar directed authorities to swiftly address any outstanding issues related to fund utilization, rehabilitation, and statutory clearances.
