A new car-loaded freight service from Becharaji will also be launched to strengthen industrial logistics, particularly benefiting Gujarat’s thriving automobile and manufacturing sectors.
Key railway projects include:
Doubling of the 65 km Mehsana–Palanpur line at a cost of ₹537 crore, Broad-gauge conversion of the 37 km Kalol–Kadi–Katosan Road line at ₹347 crore, Conversion of the 40 km Becharaji–Ranuj line at ₹520 crore
Complementing the rail upgrades, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several key road infrastructure developments, including:
Widening of the Viramgam–Khudad–Rampura road, A six-lane underpass on the Ahmedabad–Mehsana–Palanpur highway, A new overbridge on the Ahmedabad–Viramgam route
Together, these initiatives are poised to make travel and freight movement faster, safer, and more efficient, while giving a strong boost to regional trade, connectivity, and socio-economic growth in North Gujarat.
