HRIDC Launches Feasibility Study for Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor

The Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC) has initiated a crucial feasibility study for the Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor (EORC), set to boost connectivity across northern India. Spanning 135 kilometers from Palwal in Haryana to Sonipat, the corridor will traverse Ghaziabad, Noida, and Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, aligning with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway to streamline transport logistics.

The EORC will cover 90 kilometers in Uttar Pradesh and 45 kilometers in Haryana, reflecting a significant collaborative effort between the two states. This study marks a key advancement in the ambitious project, aimed at improving regional connectivity and economic growth.

HRIDC’s recent Board of Directors meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary T V S N Prasad, confirmed the feasibility study. Managing Director Rajesh Agarwal also highlighted ongoing initiatives, including studies for new rail lines and final location surveys for projects such as Karnal-Yamunanagar and Farukhnagar-Jhajjar new lines.

In addition to these developments, HRIDC is exploring ways to elevate the Kaithal railway track to enhance operational efficiency. The EORC feasibility study is anticipated to be a transformative step for northern India’s rail network.
