L&T Wins ₹1,466 Crore Bid for Agra Metro Line-2 Viaduct Construction

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the civil construction of Package AGCC-07 for Agra Metro Line-2, as declared by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRCL). The project, valued at ₹1,466.49 crore, involves the construction of an elevated viaduct with 14 stations along Line-2, along with a 530-meter viaduct leading to the Kalindi Vihar Depot.

L&T’s responsibilities extend beyond the initial scope, including a 2.61 km viaduct extension from the Sadar Bazar Metro station to Line-1’s PAC Depot. This contract also consolidates the work that was initially part of the AGCC-06 package, which was later scrapped.

UPMRCL had floated the tender for this critical infrastructure project in December 2023, with an estimated cost of ₹1,529.29 crore and a completion timeline of 24 months. L&T’s successful bid came in slightly under the estimated budget, securing their role in this key metro development.

This contract win reinforces L&T’s position as a leading infrastructure developer in India, and it marks a significant step forward in the expansion of Agra’s metro network, promising improved connectivity and urban mobility for the city’s residents.
