MMI Plan to Seamlessly Link Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Corridor by PMRDA

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is poised to revolutionize urban mobility by implementing a multi-modal integration (MMI) plan across all 23 stations on the elevated Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro corridor. This comprehensive initiative aims to bridge the last-mile connectivity gap along the 23.3 km stretch, ensuring a seamless and integrated transportation experience for commuters.

Echoing the model recently announced by MMRDA, PMRDA's plan will prioritize the development of essential infrastructure, including parking facilities for autorickshaws, buses, private cabs, and electric bikes. This strategic approach will ensure the availability of diverse transportation options, catering to the varied needs of Pune's commuters.

With the third Metro line scheduled to commence operations in April 2025, PMRDA has already completed nearly 50% of the project. In line with the state government's transit-oriented development (TOD) policy, the stations of Pune Metro line-3 are being meticulously designed to promote walkability, non-motorized transport, and para-transit options.

PMRDA's MMI plan is a testament to the agency's commitment to transforming Pune into a sustainable, well-connected city. By prioritizing seamless multimodal integration, PMRDA is paving the way for a future where commuting is efficient, convenient, and environmentally responsible.
