Ghaziabad’s Harnandipuram Township Gets a Fresh ₹943 Cr Boost

The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned an additional ₹943 crore for the Harnandipuram township project in Ghaziabad under the CM Urban Expansion New City Promotion Scheme. The capital will be utilized for land acquisition and core infrastructure development.

The project previously received ₹1,366 crore in seed capital out of the ₹3,000 crore earmarked under the state’s 2025 budget scheme, while the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) contributed another ₹400 crore. Originally envisioned in 2024 as a massive 521-hectare township on par with Indirapuram, high land acquisition costs forced the GDA to scale back the layout by excluding three villages covering 151 hectares. Overall development costs for Harnandipuram are estimated at around ₹15,000 crore, driven largely by land acquisition expenses.
