NHAI Awards TOT Bundles 13 & 14: 273 km at Rs 9,384 Crore

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently announced the successful bids for Toll, Operate, and Transfer (TOT) Bundles 13 and 14, covering a total length of 273 km and valued at Rs 9,384 crore. The financial bids were unveiled on November 14, 2023.

In this allocation, IRB Infrastructure Trust secured TOT Bundle-13 at a value of Rs 1,683 crore. This bundle encompasses the Kota Bypass and Stay Bridge on NH-76 in Rajasthan, as well as the Gwalior-Jhansi section of NH-75 spanning across Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Similarly, Cube Highways and Infrastructure emerged as the successful bidder for TOT Bundle-14, valued at Rs 7,701 crore. Bundle-14 comprises the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, encompassing the Delhi-Hapur section of NH-9 in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, along with the Binjabahal to Teliebani section of NH-6 in Odisha. The letter of award (LoA) was promptly issued to the winning bidders with the requisite approvals from the concerned authorities.

The concession period for both TOT bundles is set at 20 years, during which the concessionaires are obligated to undertake the operation and maintenance (O&M) responsibilities for the specified stretches. In return, the concessionaires will be authorized to collect and retain user fees for these sections, following the prescribed fee rates outlined in NH Fee Rules.

This announcement follows the awarding of TOT Bundles 11 and 12 in October 2023, covering a combined length of 400 km and valued at Rs 6,584 crore. The cumulative worth of the four TOT bundles awarded in the fiscal year 2023-24 totals approximately Rs 15,968 crore, surpassing the monetization target of Rs 10,000 crore set for the current financial year.
