Ayodhya's Bharat Path: A ₹900-Crore Spiritual Superhighway

The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled plans for a ₹900-crore spiritual corridor named Bharat Path in Ayodhya, designed to enhance infrastructure and accommodate the rising number of devotees visiting the sacred city.

Stretching over 20 kilometers, the corridor will begin at the Ranopali railway crossing along Ram Path and extend to Bharatkund, a site of deep religious importance where Lord Ram’s brother, Bharat, is believed to have performed penance. The route will pass through key locations including Vidyakund and Darshannagar on the Prayagraj highway.

Championed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Bharat Path is part of a broader vision to establish Ayodhya as a premier global hub of religious and cultural tourism following the construction of the Ram temple. The corridor will feature nine-meter-wide lanes on either side of a 2.5-meter central divider, designed to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient traffic flow.

This initiative is a response to the dramatic increase in both domestic and international pilgrims to Ayodhya. It complements several ongoing infrastructure upgrades, including the expansion of Ram Path, Bhakti Path, Janmabhoomi Path, and the Panchkosi and Chaudashkosi Parikrama routes.
