The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has instructed its administration to accelerate work on 19 ongoing road projects being executed through the public-private partnership (PPP) model. These projects span 37 km in total, of which 12 km have already been completed.
PMC officials, led by Additional Commissioner Omprakash Diwate, are focusing on clearing procedural hurdles, coordinating with the TDR (transferable development rights) department, and initiating land acquisition required for road-widening efforts.
Major roads under development include the Shivane–Kharadi route, the stretch from Warje Rosary School to Ambedkar Chowk, and the Baner–Balewadi to Hinjewadi corridor. The overall initiative aims to strengthen road connectivity and improve urban transportation infrastructure.
