N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to lay the foundation stone for a mega solar manufacturing facility by ReNew Power in Anakapalli district near Visakhapatnam on April 23.
The project is a key initiative under Andhra Pradesh’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 and aligns with India’s broader push to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. It also supports efforts to reduce import dependence and strengthen domestic manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.
The upcoming facility will be a 6 GW solar ingot and wafer manufacturing unit, involving an investment of around ₹5,400 crore. It is expected to play a significant role in bolstering India’s solar supply chain and enhancing self-reliance in renewable energy manufacturing.
