Cyberpark Goes Green: 300 kW Solar Powers Kozhikode IT Hub

Cyberpark in Kozhikode, Kerala, has commissioned a 300 kW rooftop solar power system to enhance sustainability and reduce reliance on grid electricity across its IT campus.

Executed by Wattsun Energy, the project utilizes otherwise underutilized rooftop and parking spaces to generate clean, renewable energy. The installation is expected to lower the campus’s annual electricity costs by approximately 20%, with an estimated payback period of 2.5 years.

The system features Rayzon solar modules paired with Polycab inverters, specifically selected for durability in coastal environments. The installation overcame key engineering challenges, such as loose soil in parking zones, through reinforced foundations and upgraded steel structures to ensure safety under both solar panel and vehicular loads.

This initiative showcases how IT campuses can integrate sustainable infrastructure to reduce operational costs while advancing toward carbon neutrality. Cyberpark joins a growing number of commercial and industrial facilities leveraging solar energy to hedge against rising power tariffs and meet long-term environmental goals.
