Envision Energy India, the country’s leading wind turbine original equipment manufacturer (OEM), will invest ₹500 crore to expand its manufacturing capacity—bringing its total investment in India to ₹1,000 crore since 2016.
Driven by a robust order book of over 10–12 GW, the company aims to scale annual production capacity to 5 GW. “With such a strong order pipeline, it’s essential we deliver at a cost-effective scale,” said Managing Director RPV Prasad.
The expansion includes a second blade manufacturing plant near Ahmedabad, a new gearbox production facility in Pune, and an upgrade of the Trichy plant from four to six moulds. Additionally, the nacelle and hub plant in Pune will boost capacity from 3 GW to 5 GW.
By manufacturing gearboxes locally using its global expertise, Envision aims to reduce import dependence and improve cost efficiency. This strategic investment reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to India’s renewable energy sector.
