Jakson Green, through its subsidiary JGRJ Three Solar, has signed its first wind power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) for a 100 MW wind energy project. The 25-year agreement, secured under GUVNL’s Wind Tender Phase VIII, is priced at ₹3.59 per unit.
Located in Gujarat, the project is expected to generate over 300 million kWh annually, helping to offset approximately 250,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. This marks Jakson Green’s strategic entry into utility-scale wind energy, building on its established presence in solar and hybrid energy solutions.
“Our first wind power PPA with GUVNL represents a major milestone in our journey to diversify and scale our renewable energy portfolio,” said Kannan Krishnan, Managing Director, Jakson Green. Krishnan Rajagopalan, Head - IPP, added that India’s wind potential, estimated at over 695 GW, offers a viable and sustainable path forward—especially in wind-rich states like Gujarat.
The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months, contributing to India's broader renewable energy targets and strengthening the state's green power infrastructure.
