OMC Power's ₹4,000 Crore Clean Energy Push: 1 GW by 2028

OMC Power, a decentralized renewable energy company, plans to deploy 1 GW of distributed clean energy capacity over the next three to five years, with a total investment of approximately ₹4,000 crore.

For the current year, the company has allocated ₹400–500 crore in capital, according to Managing Director and CEO Rohit Chandra. “We are currently executing about 100 MW of deployments this year alone,” he stated. The 1 GW pipeline includes 600 MW from rooftop solar projects (including Kusum and floating solar), 200 MW from telecom infrastructure, 100 MW from mini grids, and another 100 MW from the existing portfolio.

A key focus is the solarization of healthcare facilities across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including AIIMS Raebareli, AIIMS Gorakhpur, and KGMU Lucknow. OMC also plans to build energy infrastructure for 2,000 telecom towers and 1,000 rural mini grids.

Operating across four verticals, the company is committed to scaling clean energy solutions while maintaining financial discipline and operating independently of grant funding.
